Not so fresh from the desh

So its been 3 weeks since I returned from desh. Most of the time I was there my stomach was rather disagreeable and rather upset which meant I didn't walk in straight line most of the time since I couldn't even eat more than a handful of food before I felt physically sick. I did still walk a lot while I was in Dhaka and Chittagong but mostly through the markets searching for stuff to wear at a wedding. You just wouldn't believe how much of a mission it is to find jewellery set in silver. Even the bangles, instead of being plain, nearly all had annoying gold glitter on them. What is wrong with these people??

It was nice to spend time with my extended family. My youngest niece is hilarious. I could swear she just stepped out of a cartoon, the way she walks, the way she talks. She's only just turned 2 but she can say everything under the sun except for when she really needs to go the toilet. Tiny little things my nieces are. I also met 3 new baby cousins as well as a cousins baby daughter. Watching them kept me well entertained! Who needs a tv when you got babies!! Squishy little edible things :) Saying that, I'm still not too keen on little children. Bratlike creatures they are. So I can definitely wait before I'm looking to have babies.

Oh, I haven't mentioned the floods!! Well they didn't affect me all that much. But it was scary to look down as the plane was descending. Soo much of the country, the farmland in particular appeared to be immersed under water and I could swear the rivers looked wider but that could well just be my imagination. Other changes in the country include pavements. Yes, Dhaka now has pavements. And traffic lights. More shopping centres too. Less wonderful of course is the new attitude of CNG taxi drivers. They don't just refuse to go for a certain fare, they refuse to go to a certain area if they simply don't like it. They drive off and leave you stranded. One after the other. Tis disgraceful!

Moving on now, I could say how things have been since I came back or I could say more about my time in bd but my time is up. Till next time.
